Asian street art

Welcome to the street.

A voyage along the multiplicity of art in asian walls; from the modern retakes of religious and traditional symbols in Gokarna to the aesthetic ornaments in Penang or Chiang Mai, from the historical-based paintings in Melaka to the political messages in Hanoi or the critics of pop culture in Singapore. From the depiction of ethnic and culture in Bangkok to the social messages in Yogyakarta and Dili, the beauty of Phnom Penh walls or the cultural representations in Vientiane houses.

The somehow radical idea of an art for everyone.
Especially in developing countries where a large part of its population is still worried about surviving — a natural priority towards the stomach and not the mind — and therefore will probably never visit an art gallery in their lives.
For some, these digressions in public spaces can be the only open door to imagination and a much deserved intermission in the harshness of everyday life.
